Yesterday I did my squats and was pleased to do 5 sets of 5 reps A2G at 40KG, but was gutted when a full range squat at 50KG seemed rock hard and had me failing on the third rep! (Thank heavens for power cages!!!) Last week I was aching like hell towards the end of Thursday, (after squats and then hill reps the next day) so I'm wondering if my poor legs are about to suffer the same fate, or it will be hugely improved this week.
Tonights' hill reps were massively better than last week. This time I managed to do 3 full reps without having to walk/pass out/cough and I was delighted... so that's double my effort of last week (as I only managed one full hill without walking) and ironically today the last rep was the fastest. Not quite sure how the hell I managed that, but I'm pleased all the same. Even jogging home afterwards was done without any walking, so the improvements are coming everywhere! Next week maybe I'll get 5 hill reps done... I'll try to, anyway!
My blackstrap molasses came today and I had a spoon of it. The consistency was awful, but it tasted nice (a bit like treacle and licorice), so I'm going to have a spoonful of that every night to make sure my iron levels are OK. I'm really enjoying getting back into training... long may it continue. :-)
