My session with Ania and the girls about our diet was all about good and bad fats. I was literally horrified to hear about some of the things I previously wasn't aware of concerning fats, and it made me think more about what I'm eating than ever before. I agreed to stop all 'pretend' meats and bin the margarine. Again, when Graeme heard of my plans he instantly said he couldn't cope without margarine, and as usual, I said, "Well, keep eating it then... just don't buy it for me".
Tuesdays' intervals were tough and my legs felt very tired, but they are the fastest I've done for a very very long time. I also did almost a mile warm up and the same for the cool down, so things are progressing well. I came downstairs from the loft to see Graeme enjoying MY rice cakes with coconut oil and Marmite. Apparently he really likes it, and already the coconut oil is going down very fast. I wish he'd stuck with the margarine!!!
Yesterday the sets of squats went well. I only managed 1 set of 5 reps at 42.5KG A2G, but that was a PB! My last set of partials I actually did 20 reps instead of 10 with 70KG, and overall the day was very good because I ate very cleanly and felt really good.
Today, I woke up with shoulders that ached and knew it was from having the weight of the squat bar on them. I use a pad but I think the weight is something I'm not used to at the moment. It's my birthday today so clean eating can take a run and jump. I've had chips and beans for lunch and I'm having a takeaway curry later... I deserve it because hill reps tonight were so so tough. I used the treadmill (due to time constraints) and put the gradient at 5% for 4 minute stints with 4 minute walking recoveries (at a pace faster than I'm normally used to). I wore my XL vest and the sweat poured off me. I was so glad when they were over. Still, I managed 5 reps (so that's one more than I've done before plus the weight of the vest to add more difficulty). So, it's trashy TV and a curry for me later, and I'm REALLY looking forward to it. :-)
