More improvements

Well, as promised I did my weights session on Sunday (I actually did it before dinner so I could have a sauna after dinner). The weights went well... Tiring but good. The sauna was pure torture. After about 19 minutes I had to get out for a minute and then got back in until 28 minutes when I felt like I was going to pass out. I came downstairs and didn't move off the floor for about 15 minutes. It really tuckered me out.

Monday was an hour of step, which again bored me and I decided afterwards that this was the right time to move to a higher level step. Tuesday was a trip to the local gym where I did 10 minutes on an elliptical machine and 20 minutes on the hill climber. That shattered me out, so by Wednesday I started the day quite weary (but it was a pleasant weary, if that makes sense). After work I did 45 minutes on the higher level step (the last 20 minutes were shattering) and then I went straight into my weights session. I have never done that before as I've always had at least an hour of rest in between. If I wanted to be as tired as possible then I got my wish. I was actually grateful to be able to sit down and do nothing but read my new Scott Jurek book that had arrived earlier that day. It's a great read so far!

So today has been a lot more relaxed with only the harrowing sauna to get through. I think it's so much harder to deal with when it's already very warm weather.

I found a lovely trail walk Graeme and I can do next week when we are in Windermere. I'm hoping that will be my last week of no running as my foot is definitely improving a lot. I suppose I'm making improvements all the time... Tomorrow I hope to do 30 minutes on the hill climber and then Saturday is a planned 2 hour 15 minute walk. No rest for the wicked :-)
