Second day running

Yesterday I did 2 miles on a 5 run 5 walk basis. It went ok apart from the first mile or so, but the walking sections had me holding onto the treadmill handrails in order to take as much pressure off my foot as possible. As soon as the run was over I iced my foot whilst reading the information William had sent me the link for. I'd previously only skim read it, so reading it properly I realised the rehab programme he was suggesting meant I could run every day with a structure for improvement over the coming weeks. I was filled with optimism... As long as the day of running left me feeling ok....

Today, the foot was good. As I had ran to distance (2 miles) as opposed to time, for the last two runs, I decided to change it to the recommended time factor instead and go for my first increase of 5 minutes. The run/walk went well and it only felt a little "awkward" for the first 3/4 of a mile. I also didn't need to hold the handrails whilst walking. As soon as I was done I iced and ibuprofened! Tomorrow I get to consolidate that 5 minute increase by doing the same duration again. I'm feeling very good about it. My foot felt pretty good... Not normal, but better than it has been for a while!
