Freezing

Even the cat got under the covers with me at 4am this morning as it was so cold. I haven't experienced as cold a day as today for a long time, in fact the first time I had felt warm today was lunch time when I had a hot pasta meal. Getting home after work I was dreading the first mile of my run as I knew it would be perishing. I actually looked at the bath and thought how I couldn't wait to be done and dusted and lying in there with bubbles up to my chin.

As anticipated, the first mile was freezing. I couldn't find my gloves and so pulled my X-Bionic top sleeves over my hands. I even wore my Gore jacket which is very thick and warm but it didn't seem to do much at all today. During the run I sort of lost myself in my thoughts and despite going without an iPod I found I was singing songs in my head anyway, which sort of defeated the object! I can't really recall much of the six miles I ran, but when I finally got home and went in the bath it was gorgeous!

Graeme is absolutely ill with a very bad cold and hasn't even been able to go to Muay Thai tonight for his grading. Luckily the teacher said he's seen enough for him to pass it anyway so he's sat here on the sofa donned in dressing gown and slippers. I felt a bit "full" last week, so I'm hoping that was my cold and it's been and gone!
