I've not done well on the training front for the best part of two weeks now. To be honest I haven't been able to fully shake off the bug I had, although I'm definitely improving every day. Graeme has had the bug for 5 days now and has had all of that time off work, so I should be glad it really only knocked me out fully for the one day.
As I'm off to Lyon tomorrow, I am treating the "long run" I will be doing the same as I would a race. After all, it is my only chance to run in hot weather until November, so I want to be able to work out how far I need to go with heat training by that time. I have no clue how I will cope in 29 degrees, but I'm about to find out. And as for treating it like a race, I'm doing this by resting up well beforehand (especially as I haven't been well), I'm trying out my final outfit (hopefully) for Bangalore while I'm there and have electrolyte tablets and the torq gels I will also be using.
Of course... it won't all be hard work while I'm there.... :-)
