Castle Eden Dene

This afternoon I took Lincoln to the Dene for his walk. The weather was beautiful and for the first time this year I went out in a vest and shorts. It was unknown territory for the dog, and he spent a lot of time waiting ahead of me and wondering where we were going next.
There was a stream which was down a steep bank from where we were walking and he kept looking at it. After about a mile or so we came to a bridge and he jumped into the stream and had a drink and a splash about. He really looked like he was enjoying himself, so in the next couple of miles when the stream moved back to being down steep muddy banks, I took the time to clamber down with him a couple of times and then ran back up them. How fell runners do it amazes me, I was knackered.

So, by the time we got home we had done 6.04 miles which is Lincolns' longest run and the longest time I have managed on my feet for weeks. My foot knows it's done some extra work too... it doesn't hurt but it feels different. If I can wake up pain free tomorrow it will be a great success indeed!
