Max test

This afternoon I did a deadlift max test. This is the same test that I did a couple of months ago and got to 67.5KG for 1 rep... and I think I only managed 1 rep at 65KG also back then.
Today I began with 35KG as a warm up, and then started on 65KG with 6 reps. I then did 5 reps at 67.5KG, and even managed 3 reps at 70KG. It was after this that I sort of fell apart, failing at 72.5KG and then failing again at another attempt of 70KG. However, it's not a bad effort... I would have probably lifted the 72.5 if I had had the power cage, as I was more worried about lowering the weight (which for me is the hardest part) than actually lifting it off the ground. At least with the power cage I will have the security of being able to leave the weight a little higher, should I need to.

Even Graeme did the test today. He managed to get to 75KG before giving up. I have no doubts that he could have lifted more... he's just bone idle! However, he is sat whingeing that his back is already aching, so maybe it was enough for him for today!
