Email folders

Today I had to set up a new folder in my email. I have one for all of the training emails I get from William and Shaun (so I can look back through their advice if I ever forget something), and today I set up another one called "Races and hotels". I now have 3 hotels booked in various parts of the world (check me out... I sound like a right jet setter don't I?) and 3 races with email confirmations from each. I always panic at the thought of deleting an important email by accident, so this will eliminate that problem.

So, today I booked everything for Amsterdam. I had an email from Kerry saying which hotel she had booked, so I went on the "Old faithful" website that is Booking.com and managed to get the same hotel on a "secure with your card and pay when you get there" basis. That is how I like to book my hotels... I can cancel the day before if something comes up, and it's plenty of time to save up for it too.

In other news, I rang the doctors today as I felt my inhaler wasn't strong enough and I feel like I'm using it too often. They think it may be because I'm not taking it well enough in advance. I take it about 10 or so minutes before a run and it should be 30 minutes. The fact that it eventually works makes them think I just need to allow more time. I have an appointment with the asthma nurse in a fortnight to have a few tests to make sure it is not full blown asthma and is literally only EIA.

My run yesterday wasn't great. Although it was back to a better speed (around a 10mm), the wind really really hurt my chest for most of the run. It wasn't until I was about 30 minutes into it before it settled down. I already know the difference between the asthma and just being tired. The asthma hurts the top of my chest (near my lungs) and when I'm knackered my diaphragm aches!

I had an email from William yesterday about my training during long runs. I'm to try a 30/5 split this weekend... 30 minutes running and 5 minutes brisk walk. I have to try and keep the walks "Positive"... for example walking when I'm supposed to, and not to "Negative" walk.... that's walking when you're too knackered to run. I currently do the negative way a lot!!!
So, I am going to take my inhaler a full 30 minutes before I leave the house, however will take Graemes' inhaler for during the run, as this is a much quicker reliever and felt amazingly good last week. My mam seems to think that the asthma nurse will change me to the Ventolin inhaler anyway, once I've been to see her.
