OK, so my training has changed again. I'm now to do the same 2 hours 45 minutes this weekend for my long run as last week, and the last 2 weeks before tapering for Florence I'm to do both weeks XL runs at a time of 3 hours. This is because of the unexpected aches in my quads last Saturday, and being careful not to push it too much.
So, I am determined to do 18 miles both runs (which equates to a 10mm). I'm sure I can do that, and that's fairly good preparation for a marathon.
I've also had a few emails concerning squats, and a brief look into what I will be doing post Florence. It's all fascinating stuff and I'm looking forward to giving it all a shot! Today I had to do a sort of "weight PB test" with squats, as I have no idea what I can lift. I was a little conservative (ensuring my back was still OK) however was sort of forced into stopping at 50KG as Graeme had to keep lifting the weight from the floor onto my shoulders and it started taking it's toll after a while. This has made me decide to buy some squat stands so I can do everything I can without being held back because of equipment issues. I actually found today relatively easy, so I know I have a lot more in me.
Another change of plan that occurred today was at the vets. Merlin needs some bloods taken because he is having seizures and we need to eliminate certain ailments before the vet can prescribe something. He wasn't having it, and turned into a frantic savage beast. The vet eventually gave up and said he would need to be sedated and I would have to book him in for it.
The raw food is going down a treat with Merlin, he loves it. Emma isn't quite so enamoured. They have had beef and chicken, and she won't touch either of them.... yet!
