It doesn't take much to make me think "Ohhhh.... that'll be good!", and I got that today in an email from William. I've been asking about changing trainers which he didn't think was necessary (I'm sort of pleased about it, as it's been a headache getting trainers I'm happy with). I did think my current ones had a yowge heel, however it just looks bigger because of it's design. Graemes' trainers are pretty much the same thickness at the heel. (I know because I measured it... sad person that I am!)
The bit in the email that I thought would be good though, was about doing my warm up on the treadmill in bare feet... so that's why there is a section in "shoes" on Fetch saying "barefoot"!!! Oh, I'm quick me, you know! ;-) Seriously though, I thought that was for all them pose/chi runners and wouldn't be something I would even try! So, I'm looking forward to seeing how I get on.
Tonight I went on the bike for 30 minutes. I got the seat position wrong and so the first 18 minutes were really hard. Once the seat was in the right place, it was much better! I enjoyed the session though and felt quite good at the end.
I got home to find Graeme had bought the wrong rice at the supermarket... you just can't get the staff can you? I have discovered Tildas' wholegrain basmati rice which is lovely. A serving is only 60g (I ignored this the first time and did the usual 100g... left about 40g as it clearly was too much) and can you believe is only 68 calories? Excellent eh? So when I saw he had bought organic wholegrain rice at 360 calories a serving I wasn't impressed. We'll still use it though... maybe when we need to carb load!
I'm getting good at eating the correct stuff. I try to get as much low GI stuff as I can (unless I'm just about to do some sort of training, then I chose high GI) and again have lost 2lb this week. So, my horrendous jump in weight to 9 stone 12 is now down to 9 stone 8. Half a stone(ish) to go, and I'll be happy.
Looks like I'm in for a drenching on my long run tomorrow. Now, which route to pick I wonder? I'm going to try drinking 300ml of water before going out this time, and again try to stick to 5K points for each drink thereafter. I managed much better than I thought I would last week (and it was a hot day) so I'm quite confident I can get myself used to this quickly!
