After reading my training log, William emailed me saying I should probably adjust my target paces for the marathon, as I should feel that 6 miles at race pace is very comfortable and not knackering (as I'm currently finding it).
So, the 3 new targets are 10.40mm, 11mm and 11.20mm. I have to say I feel a bit more comfortable with this, but there is also a bit of a gutted feeling that I'm definitely not quite ready for a sub 4:30 marathon yet... maybe if I keep improving at my current rate I could go for that sort of time in Florence? Fingers crossed!
So, today is just a 30 minute easy session on the bike. I didn't get to the spa last night, so I'm going to have a sauna and relax tonight after going on the bike. I'm actually looking forward to trying the 10.40 pace tomorrow. I'm going to do the route that I've been running for the past 3 weeks to see how different it feels without the vest. Only thing is, we are forecast heavy rain and strong wind for tomorrow, so that will be a challenge in itself!
