Wet T-Shirt

I'd have won the competition hands down today... had there been a wet t-shirt competition that is!
Did 10 minutes skipping, and it's not getting any easier, but I do at least keep going... despite wishing the 10 minutes away.
Then it was off onto the treadmill for my intervals. Because it hasn't been long since the race, I decided to take it a little bit easier and do my intervals at level 10 (about a 9.40ish mm) and recover with running recoveries.
I managed fairly well, and did just that. The only time I walked was after the last interval (I had put it up to level 11 for the last minute), however it was only for 1 minute 40 seconds and then I started running again.
Intervals is another thing that never gets any easier, however I did run 640 metres further than ever before in the same time... so I'm slowly (very slowly) moving in the right direction.
I was shattered afterwards, even to the point that I sat in the changing rooms unable to move out of sheer knackeredness. I didn't enjoy the sauna afterwards, it was just another 15 minutes of torture!

We booked a lovely hotel for Fleetwood today. Let's hope nothing goes wrong this time. We have pulled out of the Isle of Man Marathon because we simply couldn't get alternative accommodation. Oh well, more time to train I suppose.... silver lining in every cloud and all that!

  1. Did you manage to get the hotel to cough up for the ferry? or for the ferry to let you change dates?

  2. Not yet... Graeme is ringing today because I've just totally had enough of all the organising and getting grief for making someone aged 50 for race entry when I didn't, booking rooms when they are too expensive and having people whinge at me.... Despite the fact you and I spent most of yesterday trying to find something cheaper!!!! I've told Paul he can do it all him bloody self next time... Gave me a stressed sleepless night last night :-(
