Last night I got an email from our hotel in Isle of Man saying "Sorry, your rooms aren't available. We hope you find an alternative!"
I was absolutely stotting mad, and fortunately vented my anger on facebook, where I was given the advice that it is the hotels' responsibility to find me an alternative which is of the same standard with no extra cost to us.
I then emailed booking.com to advise them of the double booking, and I have to say they were very efficient and emailed me back to say that they had contacted the hotel and told them where their obligations lie. If I haven't heard from them in 3 days, I have to email booking.com back and they will sort something out.
Now, I've had a good look all over the web for an alternative myself and I can't find one, so I expect my £316 for the ferry back if that's the case. The only reason I chose to go by ferry instead of flying was because the hotel had free parking.
The good thing is, if they can't find something else, then IOMVA has agreed to defer our places until 2011.... but I still want my ferry money back. That's a lot of money to lose!!!
I contacted William today as I really was quite concerned about how much I am sweating during exercise (it really is quite excessive). He answered saying that I am becoming heat acclimatised because I'm getting fitter and my body is becoming more efficient, which in turn will also help me when running in warmer weather. He also said that as you train more intensely you get much hotter which causes you to sweat more, and it was good to hear I was getting on well and things were starting to happen!
So, I have a meeting tomorrow and then I'll be off to the gym to do my biking. I'm really looking forward to the weekend and getting together with friends and having a laugh... oh yeah, and doing a spot of running too!
