Strength

...or should I say, lack of strength today!
I did the exercises that I've been doing every Monday for 3 weeks now. Today I ached like you wouldn't believe. My legs feel a bit tired, and my arms ached even more than usual. It's a bit of an "all over" workout, but the upper body stuff is definitely the hardest for me. And can I just say now that I HATE "Towel Fly" exercises... they make me feel sick because they hurt so much.

I also did a small amount of dead lifting (as I've read how important this exercise is). I only did 20KG in weight, and I only did one set of them too. Back in my college days when I had a big burly personal trainer called Aston, I would get beasted with these exercises and although I can't remember how heavy the weights were that I used, I do remember the pain for 2 days afterwards. Aston was very motivational though... he would call his weight lifting buddies upstairs to watch me doing barbell squats because "for a skinny lass I couldn't half shift a lot of weight". (I must point out I only weighed 7 stone 10 then)

So, I'm looking forward to getting out for a run tomorrow. We have decided at the end of June to join the Serendipity Spa again. I really missed this since we left, and I'm thinking with a new training programme it will be good to be able to use the full gym then have the treat of whirlpools, saunas and steam rooms afterwards... lovely!
