Mapmyrun
OK, so this is the 4 mile run I did today. I'm over the moon, as, despite being not well enough to run a long run, when I checked the elevation on this, it turns out this run invloves an incline of 5%. That's fantastic news, as, Windermere only incorporates hills of 4% so I will feel much more prepared than I expected. The bad news is, I've avoided these routes for quite a while (because of HR training and running in brightly lit areas while the dark nights have been around).
I got home, after cutting the run very short (was intending doing 16 today) and started sneezing, eyes were running and itchy... and I thought DRAT and DOUBLE DRAT! Maybe me feeling so rubbish was more down to hayfever than the cold. However, maybe it was meant to be, and maybe I'd have felt totally awful if I'd tried to run that far.
I can't help but think about the 20 mile run I dragged myself around last year. I ended up on double strength antibiotics and was incredibly ill. The Dr told me I'd made myself worse by running such a long way.
So, Mapmyrun is now my new toy. It's fab actually seeing the elevation in various colour grading to show how steep you've climbed. I wonder what Elison Bank will look like when I do it on Tuesday!
