My HPC Registration is due... it's about £160 I think, and so I reluctantly set up the computer to get it sorted. Fortunately (for me), I was unable to do this today as I need an authentication code which must be sent to me by post. Panicking about the deadline, I checked when it was due and was delighted to see it's not due until July 31st. Yippeee I thought, as this means I can order my trainers instead!!!!
So, off to SportsShoes.com to order the latest lighter version of the Kinsei 3's I went. It's very scary, but I actually know the 16 digit card number/expiry date and the three digit code on the back of the card without even looking at it. Now, that's just not good is it? I also got myself some more Engo blister plasters to put in them straight away.
This afternoon, I also found my first pair of orthotics (that I thought I had binned by accident), in the depths of the boot of the car. I need these recovering but I'm over the moon to have found them. It means I have 2 pairs now. (I was going to go back for another pair). Now here's an interesting fact... my knee only started hurting once I started wearing my current orthotics (which do feel ever so slightly different to the first pair). If, once the old ones are recovered, I stop getting the dodgey knee, I will take the newer ones to be tweaked!
I also got an App for the iPhone today called "Learn Muscles". It is amazing, you just point to a muscle on a "body" and it tells you the name of it, it's function and what affects it. It's a superb app. Now, the last 3 days I've found my shins are really aching, and to be honest, have blamed it on my old trainers. Tonight (after I ordered the new trainers I must add), I was reading the article again about lifting the knees whilst running hills, and I noticed a paragraph that said doing this over a month would strengthen the Anterior Tibialis and make you much faster. Hmmmmm, I thought... what is that muscle? I looked on my new app, and low and behold it is the part of my shin that has been aching this week. I must be doing something right then. :-)
